Visit the Grand Rivers Arts & Crafts Festival
The Grand Rivers Chamber of Commerce Arts & Crafts Festival is the place to be for Labor Day Weekend. The event will feature original and handcrafted items from over 90 talented crafters and artisans from 6 states.
Visitors will also enjoy a wide variety of delicious carnival food and regional specialties while at the festival.
New this year is a musical lineup featuring bluegrass, river music and singer-songwriters. Musicians include Jack Martin and Good Company, Cherry and Kim Yocum, Josh and Eddie Coffee, Sam Hadfield, The Traveling Kind and The Sleepless Pilgrims.

Visit The Columbus Foundation Ships the Nina and Pinta
On Friday, September 2nd, the ‘Pinta’ and the ‘Nina’, replicas of Columbus’ Ships, will open in Grand Rivers. The ships will be docked at Green Turtle Bay Marina, 263 Green Turtle Bay Drive, until their departure early Monday morning September 12th.
While in port, the general public is invited to visit the ships for a walk-aboard, self-guided tour.

Step Back in Time at TheHomeplace 1850s Trades Fair

The Homeplace 1850s Working Farm will host a Trades Fair on Saturday and Sunday, September 3 and 4, from 10am to 4pm in Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area. Traditional trades and crafts people will share knowledge of vanishing folk art skills. The Homeplace farm family will demonstrate spinning yarn, wood working, and blacksmithing throughout the weekend.

The Grand Rivers Labor Day Weekend Arts & Crafts Festival offers fun for the whole family. If you are bringing the kids, you will find hand crafted clothing, accessories and toys, along with these kid favorites-

The talented and popular Painter of Faces Teresa Schmidt will return for 2016. Teresa’s beautiful designs have been a fun and favorite festival activity of children for many years.

Historian and Writer Geoff Baggett of Western KY will be there and will do short presentations of “Kentucky Frontier: The Revolutionary War.” He will have a wooden trunk full of interesting items, clothing, and props.

And don’t forget the festival foods. The festival will feature festive fare including kids favorites of cookies, fruit smoothies, and lemon shake-ups.

Vendor Update – Food Vendor Spaces Sold Out

The food vendor spaces in the food court area are now sold out for the 2016 Grand Rivers Labor Day Weekend Arts & Crafts Festival (formerly the KWW Arts & Crafts Festival). The festive foods of the Labor Day Weekend Arts & Crafts Festival is just one of the many reasons to visit the Grand Rivers Labor Day Weekend Arts and Crafts Festival.

Food vendors include –
The Award Winning Patti’s 1880’s Settlement of Grand Rivers will again join us.
New this year is the Blue Pinky Bakery of Hardin.
Phillips Concessions and Lane Concessions will return with all the festival favorites.
Tiki Island Concessions will also return with their island fare and fruit smoothies
Still Smokin’ will also join us featuring bar-be-que sandwiches, ribs and chicken.
And Cowboy Kettle Corn and Lemon Shake-ups will also return.

Grand Rivers Chamber to Host Labor Day Weekend Arts & Crafts Festival

LABOR DAY250250The Grand Rivers Chamber of Commerce has announced they will be the host organization for the Grand Rivers 2016 Labor Day Weekend Arts & Crafts Festival. Kentucky’s Western Waterland, the former host organization for this festival is in agreement with the Chamber now hosting the show.

The Labor Day Weekend Arts & Crafts Festival was started by Kentucky’s Western Waterland in 1975. The festival is the longest running and largest Arts & Crafts Festival in Western Kentucky.

The Grand Rivers Chamber has contracted Kim Kraemer to oversee show logistics and to work with the vendors. Kim recently retired from the Grand Rivers Tourism Commission and has over 20 years of experience in destination marketing and event planning.

“I am excited to work with the Chamber on this festival,” said Kim Kraemer. “The staff at Kentucky’s Western Waterland created a well-organized show and I know we have big shoes to fill. We want to continue the solid working relationship with past vendors and grow the show with new vendors and new ideas.”

The festival runs Saturday, Sunday, and Monday of Labor Day Weekend is held in Little Lake Park in Grand Rivers.

The event will feature original and handcrafted items from almost 100 crafters and artisans. Examples of items for sale will include floral arrangements, baskets, lawn furniture, paintings, honey, soaps, lotions, jewelry, quilts, woodwork, holiday decorations, pottery, candles, gourds, stained glass, birdhouses, rocking chairs, rocking horses, weather vanes, and much more. Visitors will also enjoy a wide variety of delicious carnival food and regional specialties while at the festival.
